On the 14th March the Chapter of Sincerity 261, Taunton was delighted to receive the 3rd Grand Principal David Maddern and other members of the Provincial Grand Chapter team to receive the Membership Challenge visit.  However, before they received the presentation, the Chapter was very pleased to perform an exaltation Ceremony with the lucky candidate being Bro. Lee Smith, a member of Richard Huish Lodge 8518.

The 3rd Grand Principal praised the Chapter on a fine ceremony.  Special mention must go to Charlie Barker & John Silett who were substituted in as Z & J at the previous night’s rehearsal.  The Sojourners also carried out their ritual in splendid fashion;  Mike Norton explained the Signs and Secrets and Pete Gibson performed the closing address.  The next business was to receive the membership challenge talk, from which all present learnt a great deal.

The Festive board was of course a very enjoyable occasion with a collection for the Taunton food bank which raised over £100. Barrie Jacques proposed the toast to the Province which was well received,  Charlie Barker gave the toast to his candidate and presented a Chapter tie and our new Companion Lee gave an excellent response.

Next stop for 261 is their Installation meeting in May to which everyone is looking forward!
