An International Affair

At their first meeting of the Masonic season, St Alphege Lodge welcomed their newest member, Brother Clarence, originally from Hong Kong.

In an exemplary manner, led by the Worshipful Master Peter, conducting his first ceremony, Brother Clarence was Initiated in a moving and dramatic performance. Significantly, all progressive officers being “light blue” Master Masons, and the Junior Warden Adam, from Greece, adding to the International flavour of the evening.

This was then followed by the presentation of Grand Lodge Certificates to Brother Kam (from the Lebanon) and Brother Dinos (Cyprus) by the most senior member of the Lodge, David Medlock (Somerset) the Assistant Grand Master.

Amongst the visitors were three Brethren from Hong Kong Lodges, one giving Greetings in Cantonese, much to the delight of Brother Clarence and the bewilderment of those who had not experienced it before; at last a chance to discover what he actually said!

The evening was rounded-off with a delicious meal at the lively Festive Board.
