New Daylight Chapter – progress report.

A new daylight chapter in the Province came a step closer on Tuesday 3rd October with an inaugural meeting of interested Companions held on Zoom.

Twenty seven Companions attended the meeting that was chaired by E Comp Bob Moore, Past Deputy Grand Superintendent and Provincial Grand Chaplain in the Craft. It was agreed that the new Chapter would meet four times a year probably at Nailsea Masonic Hall. It was also agreed that Bob would become the Primus Z of the Chapter, Simon Sparkes, Assistant Prov Scribe E would be founding Scribe E and Doug Stembridge the Provincial Treasurer the new Chapter Treasurer.

It was also decided that the new Chapter would adopt the workings of the Savage Club Chapter. This working has been demonstrated several times now in the Province by the Grand Superintendent, E Comp Ray Guthrie and the Provincial Team, most recently at Calderley Chapter where it was very well received. E Comp Ray believes this working is much easier for the candidate to understand without loosing any of the splendour of the Royal Arch exaltation ceremony.

It is hoped that the new Chapter will be consecrated in the summer of 2024. If any other Companion is interested in being a founder or indeed any Brother would like to be considered as a candidate for exaltation in the new Chapter please contact E Comp Bob Moore.
