Elizabethan Lodge helps the Samaritans

After another year of raffles and fundraising initiatives by the lodge, yet another cheque is donated to a commendable cause: this year the outgoing Worshipful Master Paul Mallon, has chosen the Bath and District branch of the Samaritans as his nominated charity.

Being acutely aware of how tough times are for many, and of the incredible work Samaritans do in helping those affected in their hour of need, Paul and the brethren of Elizabethan Lodge hope their donation of £2,000 will be of some help in supporting the volunteer-led outreach and frontline support, for which the charity is famed.

One of the UK‘s best-known charities, The Samaritans have more than 200 branches and locations across the UK and Ireland. They provide emotional support to people in distress, primarily through a confidential helpline alongside online support, alleviating feelings of loneliness, despair, and suicidal thoughts. Volunteers are available 24/7 to listen, offer non-judgmental support, and help individuals cope with their emotional challenges.

The main Samaritans phone number – 116 123 – is free to call from both landlines and mobiles, including pay-as-you-go mobiles. You do not need to have any credit or call allowance on your plan to call.
