The Wellington School Lodge 7230 held its April Meeting on 20th February in the Town Lodge, followed by a Festive board. The ceremony was well attended, with APGM Tony Guthrie in attendance alongside many of the Provincial Team. Having been proffered the gavel, Tony duly passed it back with thanks to WM Chris Leigh-Browne. The Membership Challenge Visit presentation given by the APGM explained some of the challenges Freemasonry faces and the ideas and support available to increase membership of this School Lodge.
The WM then proceeded to raise Oscar Lorridge to the Second Degree; the ceremony was enhanced by some superb notable floor work from Clive Dunster, Harry Williams, Sean Grange and John Caulfield. The lodge then confirmed several roles, and the Brethren were particularly delighted that Richard Coupe accepted the role of Treasurer and Simon Cross was duly elected as Master Elect.
The evening then continued into the very full dining hall where the Festive Board continued to show the fraternal side of Wellington School Lodge. Following the excellent meal the Brethren were honoured to have excellent toasts delivered by Sean Grange and John Cottrell, with subsequent responses by the APGM on behalf of the Province and Chris Crump for the visitors.
