Somerset Freemasons Supporting Community
The annual Cider and Beer festival was held at Nailsea and Backwell Rugby club from Friday the 19th July through to Sunday the 21st, The weather on Saturday was a little damp but this did not dampen the festival spirt, as over the last three years Somerset Freemasons have been asked to help at the event.
18 Brethren helped out over the weekend and we would like to thank, Stewart Galway, Martin Hockley, Chris Perry for setting up the stands etc and also Martin Slocombe, Andy Broad, Andy Honey, Sean Mockett, Paul Mathews, Les Millar, Ben White, Jerry Lander, Mark Eastaugh, Mat Westley, Russel Woodland, Richard Winters, Jason Hill, Mike Norton, and Alistair Rogers, for the support on Marshalling the vehicles and manning the Gazebo, which we had some good interest with 12 potential members wanting more information on freemasonry. We will be following these leads up and will be inviting them to an open afternoon to find out more about Freemasonry.
There was a raffle held with prizes on offer a 55″ smart TV, a Framed signed Manchester City Football shirt and a framed Signed Bristol Bears Rugby Shirt, the draw was completed on Sunday afternoon which drew some attention to the day, well done to those lucky winners.
A thankyou needs to go to the Rugby Club for allowing us to assist and for the great welfare they gave us with food and refreshments which was gratefully received.
A Big shout out has to go to Rob Hughes who managed the admin and the resources for the event.
Look out for our next community engagement event for a chance to be part of the team.
