Community Engagement
Welcome to the Community Engagement home page
Those of you who have seen the Membership Challenge presentation that is being delivered to all lodges during 2024/25 will be aware of the role that community engagement plays as the ‘Third Pillar’ in achieving our goal of cementing our reputation as a force for good in our communities and society as a whole.
This page has been developed to give guidance to lodges on how to engage with the local community, describe the resources available from the Province, give examples of events that have previously been successful, and links to useful information and guidance from UGLE.
Engagement is a key role for all members, whether at a personal level, as part of a lodge initiative, or at events organised by a masonic centre. The various pages and links shown on the site give guidance to members on how to interact on a one-to-one basis or at larger events.
It is vital that we present a consistent message and any lodge or centre that is planning a community event should initially contact W Bro Russ Woodland, the APGM with responsibility for Community Engagement. This isn’t the Province trying to micro-manage, it’s just so we can have a coordinated approach and discuss what assistance or resources are needed
