Tennyson Lodge donate to Bristol Dog Action Welfare Group (DAWG)
Tim Reynolds of Tennyson Lodge in Clevedon, and “Ziggy”, present a cheque for £500 to Gerry & Colin Watkins, who are two of the trustees of the DAWG Greyhound and Lurcher Rescue Charity based in Biddesham, Somerset.
DAWG was set up in 2010 to rescue Greyhounds and Lurchers from Ireland once their racing careers are over, when they have essentially no chance of being rehomed locally.
DAWG rely totally on donations and need approximately £9000 a month to keep running.
Greyhounds are very kind and loving dogs, and so make superb family pets. Contrary to popular belief Greyhounds do not need a great deal of exercise. They need 2 x 20 minute walks a day and a nice settee to sleep on.
