Wraxall Lodge Charity Donation to The Nailsea Stroke Association

On Wednesday the 16th of August 2023 W.Bro John Peters accompanied by members of Wraxall Lodge who meet at Nailsea Masonic Hall had the pleasure of attending The Stroke Association local care centre based in Nailsea Methodist Church, which is a well being centre to support local residents who have sadly suffered from strokes. Following a stroke himself in 2019, John had received excellent care both at Nailsea and Bristol Stroke care centres, and made such a formidable recovery that in the same year was well enough to take on the responsibility of becoming Worshipful Master of Wraxall Lodge which due to covid, his normal tenure of one year was extended to three years.

In recognition of the care and support John received, as Master he decided to nominate The Stroke Association as his choice to receive all charitable donations made by Brethren of Wraxall Lodge during his years in office, which in total amounted to £3,000.00, which was increased to £3.500.00 by an additional donation of £500.00 kindly donated by The Province of Somerset from their Lodge Support Fund, which was greatly appreciated.

The care centre co-ordinator Lorraine pictured with W.Bro Peters expressed her gratitude for this donation and indicated that it would go a long way to fund an away day for her members, which some due to their condition, have not had a holiday for many years.

A very moving and enjoyable experience was had by all involved, and Wraxall Lodge was proud to support this local community care centre.
