Portcullis Lodge Overflowing With Visitors

A fantastic night of Masonry was once again witnessed at the World Famous Portcullis Lodge with over 65 squeezed into the Hanging Chapel on a rather warm evening. The Lodge was honoured by the presence of the Deputy Provincial Grand Master Ben Batley & Past Assistant Grand Master Richard Winter as well as 8 Masters in office.  We were also  joined by parties from Portcullis Lodge from East Kent, Parrett & Axe Lodge form Crewkerne, and Tyndle Lodge from Gloucestershire.  As well as guests from as far away as Holland. The Lodge performed a passing ceremony on the very small piece of the Lodge Carpet that was left.  John Penfold who was the stand in candidate at very short notice did very well throughout the ceremony.  However, having just been passed he very nearly passed out but soon recovered to attend the Festive Board!

At the Festive board John Nicholas the Master of Portcullis presented the WM of our sister Lodge with a print of the Hanging Chapel.  The raffle raised a staggering £475 with a further £65 raised by a game of heads and tails.  The lodge then donated £150 to Mike Laird’s 100 mile charity Bike ride in Aid of Abigail’s Footsteps https://www.justgiving.com/page/mike-laird-1712852241120 and £150 to Steve Collings Artic Trek.
