Busy Time at Portcullis, Home of The Hanging Chapel

Cheque Presentation. Portcullis Lodge meeting in Langport recently presented a cheque for £1000 to Somerset Sight based in Staplegrove in Taunton. Roger Chadwick, Alan Helliar, Denis Paull and Ian Moore were flying the Portcullis flag in traditional fashion. Jackie and Paul received the cheque on behalf of the charity. Paul is visually impaired and was a Freemason in Cheshire.  They had a great afternoon learning about the work the Charity carries out.

A Raising. The April meeting at Portcullis saw a third degree ceremony as Rich Potts was raised in splendid fashion by the Master John Nicholas and very ably supported by Ian Moore (exhortation) Alan Helliar (secrets) Chris Fry (Working tools) but the highlight was Nick Brown’s faultless explanation of the Traditional history.

The festive board was the usual joyous occasion one expects from the members of this World Famous Lodge. A bumper attendance is expected at our next meeting as we will be receiving a visit from the Portcullis Lodges in Kent and London.
