Benevolent Lodge 446 Install Their New Master
The Benevolent Lodge 446, meeting at the Wells and Mendip Museum, Wells, were honoured to receive Stuart Hadler, Past Provincial Grand Master for Somerset as the Presiding Officer at its 187th Annual Festival and Installation meeting. Over 60 brethren including 20 visitors from 11 different lodges witnessed the new Worshipful Master Richard Hibberd being installed into the Chair of King Solomon with much skill and almost word-perfect ritual by Ian Odam. Richard then Installed his officers with warmth and sincerity, making particular reference to the future membership and mentoring challenges ahead.
A great atmosphere of friendship and brotherhood was enjoyed by everyone at the ceremony and particularly at the lively festive board, held close by at the ancient White Hart Hotel. The new Worshipful Master emphasised the importance for the brethren to be able to just enjoy their Freemasonry and it’s safe to say enjoy that everyone did! With Barry Davies leading the Benevolent Lodge Choir the new Worshipful Master was toasted from atop his chair and the visitors were serenaded in fine style, making it a memorable night for all who attended. The Lodge looks forward to a busy year ahead and welcoming visiting brethren new and old.
