A double, double at RPL 291
At their recent meeting Rural Philanthropic Lodge conducted a double initiation for the first time in over 30 years, as well as welcoming the members of Estune Lodge on their regular Fraternal visit. Travis Miller (a Lewis) and Simon Chanter were the candidates, who will make excellent Masons and members of 291.
This was the first meeting for the new team, as they were only installed in February, so to conduct a double ceremony was indeed most impressive, the WM Mike David was superb and the evening went without a hitch. Mike was ably supported by all of his officers with everyone enjoying a great evening.
With over 50 brethren in attendance, it was a really special evening at Burnham on Sea, especially as the double initiation was carried out in the “Burnham way”
Due to a rich seam of applicants, 291 will be conducting another double ceremony in April, if anyone is interested in seeing the Burnham way of carrying out a double, please contact the Lodge Secretary at rplsec@gmail.com.
