Prudence and Industry Make Further Donations to Charity
Chard Freemasons presented cheques to the MS Society and St Margaret’s Hospice.
Adrian Auton, the Charity Steward for Prudence and Industry Lodge, Chard, presented cheques on behalf of Past Master Worshipful Brother Paul Connett, for £434.00 each to The MS Society and St Margaret’s Hospice. Paul had raised the funds during his year in the Chair.
Paul was unable to attend the Presentation in person. He explained that he had chosen the MS society because a family member had been diagnosed with MS several years ago. He is very aware that the MS Society carries out a lot of research into finding new medicines and hopefully a cure. He is very keen to support the Society.
Paul had chosen St Margarets Hospice as they had looked after the late Brother, Andy Campbell in his final weeks. Andy, a very close friend of Paul’s, is still sorely missed both in and out of the Lodge.
Caroline Kew, Senior Community fundraiser, MS Society, was unable to attend the Presentation. She forwarded a Certificate of Appreciation, and wrote:
“We are very grateful to the Past Master and Masons of the Lodge of Prudence & Industry for raising this money on our behalf. None of our vital work would happen without the generosity shown by organisations like yours.”
She wished Lodge members ‘all the best for future fundraising’.
David Jones accepted the cheque on behalf of St Margaret’s Hospice.
He thanked the Past Master, and Lodge members for their continuing support for this vital charity.
