A sad day for Abbey Lodge
On Friday 1st December the Abbey Lodge surrendered their Grand Lodge Warrant to the Provincial Grand Master for Somerset, Ray Guthrie.
Ray gave a short speech recalling his memories of visiting the Lodge over the years.
He was accompanied by Colin Martin – Provincial Senior Warden, Mike Greedy – Provincial Secretary and Garry Sharp – Provincial Director of Ceremonies, along with seven other members of the Provincial Team.
The occasion was made more poignant by the fact that the Lodge received its Centenary Warrant in July this year.
On a happier note, there was an excellent festive board downstairs, with many stories of happier times being exchanged.
The former members of the Lodge, having all joined other Lodges, agreed to keep in touch and to meet up once a year to remember their association with Abbey Lodge.
