Ben Batley oversees the Team as they conduct a Raising at Sir Issac Newton Lodge.

It was a very special occasion for Sir Issac Newton Lodge meeting at Nailsea, when Andrew Edgell was raised to sublime degree of a Master Mason by the Assistant Provincial Grand Master, Tony Guthrie with 33 members of the Provincial Team also in attendance. Mike Nicholson PrSGD conducting Andrew the Candidate around after he answered the usual questions in excellent manner! The Ceremony took place in the presence of Deputy PGM Ben Batley with Assistant PGM Richard Winter acting as IPM.

The early morning started off well with bacon rolls being arranged by the Prov DC Garry Sharp, the coffee helped to wake everyone up! The rehearsal was one with the usual humour and camaraderie that the current team has, much to the delight of the WM, who even commented later, he wished everyone could have seen it!

Proud father, Jack Edgell was also attendance as was Rufus, an assistance dog belonging to Mark Bajona, although Rufus spent most of the Ceremony asleep!

Andrew, who was Initiated in January this year and Passed in April said he was overwhelmed by the occasion and that it was an experience he would never forget. Ben congratulated Andrew and said that he was delighted to able to visit Sir Issaac Newton and wished the Lodge well for the future. The Ceremony was followed by an excellent Festive Board, also attended by some of the Ladies. The WM, William Hillis thanked everyone and said that it had been a truly splendid occasion.
