ELVIS is in the building. Viva Las Vegas!
Gordano Masonic Lodge 6244 held a charity cabaret night to exceed all others in Nailsea. There were almost no empty seats for this crowded evening where over £500 was raised for the British Heart Foundation, exceeding the target set for this first event by the new lodge social committee. This was a positive attempt at making a charity evening more relevant to our newer, younger members, and proved a great success.
There was a star studded line up with Darren Graceland Jones, who is an international multi award winning Elvis Tribute act, and who was supported by Jessie who delivered an amazingly wide range of music topped off with a grand Operatic finale.
Jessie and Elvis soon had the packed room up dancing, and blew the roof off Las Vegas Style. Elvis finished the evening off approaching midnight and had everyone rocking and rolling the night away. He and Jessie left the stage to standing ovations with the crowd chanting for more.
A magnificent buffet had been served during the interval whilst the Grand Raffle was taken. The Worshipful Master Paul Hinkley welcomed everybody and explained why he and Gordano lodge were supporting this charity. He thanked everyone for helping to exceed the target set, and hinted at more in the future.
A truly magnificent night where Gordano Lodge Social Committee brought the international big stage to Somerset Freemasonry.
Watch this space as Gordano Lodge build on their reputation with more social events and cabaret evenings here in the north of our Province.
As a side note, it also appears to have been a useful recruitment evening with several strong enquiries and P forms already completed from the guests.
