Another busy night for Elizabethan Lodge

In a change to their previously scheduled programme, Worshipful Master Paul Mallon will now continue to lead their lodge for the coming Masonic year, being ‘Proclaimed’ to that end at their recent meeting.

A cohort of new and progressing lodge officers, most of them ‘light blues’, were similarly invested, and will doubtlessly benefit from Paul’s experience, genuine and boundless enthusiasm for Craft masonry, and keen mentorship of the younger brethren at their Lodges of Instruction and beyond.

To witness this, the lodge had the honour of hosting Stuart Hadler, Past Provincial Grand Master, himself representing Ray Guthrie, the Provincial Grand Master for the Province of Somerset. With Paul and his officers installed, the next order of business for the evening was a captivating second degree ‘Passing’ ceremony, with another of their younger and more-recent initiates continuing his journey through the Craft degrees.

The customarily-animated Festive Board following the meeting produced a combined alms/raffle total of £175, all of which will be donated towards Brother Scott ‘The Beard’ Brimson’s charity fire-walk, in aid of Dorothy House. This unusual ‘daily advancement’ will see Brother Scott walking barefoot across 10-12 feet of glowing hot coals:
