Exmoor Lodge Welcomes Their New Made Brother At Minehead.

The Brethren of Exmoor Lodge, and their guests, welcomed Bro Royston Ball into their Lodge on the occasion of his Initiation on Thursday 19th October at Minehead Masonic Hall. A very convivial atmosphere was enjoyed during the meeting and at the Festive Board, where Royston found himself amongst a number of Brethren whom he has known socially for many years.

They were delighted to receive him into the Lodge and all of the Brethren wish him every happiness and support as he embarks on his Masonic journey with them.

Royston with his Proposer into Freemasonry, Tony Everett (L). Seconder & WM John Munson (R) and Exmoor Lodge’s Membership Officer and Mentor, Clive Dunster (Centre).

Royston was born, raised and subsequently worked on the family farm situated in the Exmoor village of Wootton Courtenay, just outside Minehead. He worked on the farm for some forty years until it was sold whereupon he joined the workforce of the Watchet Paper Mill, where he remained until his retirement.

He was a very good cricketer in his day, and remains an enthusiastic follower of the sport today; regularly attending the matches involving his beloved Somerset County team. His former cricketing prowess has now been transferred to the bowls green in the town.

He now lives in Minehead with his wife of twenty seven years, Susan.
