Macmillan Coffee Morning- Clevedon
Clevedon Masonic Hall hosted their 6th Macmillan Coffee Morning on Friday 29th September,
the tea and coffee wasn’t the only thing flowing as over 75 people attended the hall, not only Lodge members but good support from the North Somerset Widows Association and many friends and family.
Brian Clayton and his wife Carol have been running the event with the help of Zena’s Catering ,supplying the liquid refreshment, since 2018 and the total up to 2022 was a super £2484.00 and the hope
was to push this near to £3000.
Lots of chatting and laughter showed that people were enjoying not only the super cakes provided in the main by Mrs Carol Clayton, and Zena’s Sausage Rolls ! but also the company of all those there –
there was also a tombola , a golden raffle , guess the buttons in the jar game all designed to
raise as many pennies as we could for the cause.
And the warm atmosphere was replicated by the generosity of spirit in the donations received which amounted to £829.29 and 1 euro ! Giving a grand total of £3313.29 over 6 years – a fantastic achievement
when you think according to the Macmillan website 98% of their income is through donations , and a Macmillan Nurse costs £33 per hour , through one annual event we have funded over 100 hours- well done everybody !
Brian and Carol thank you all for your generosity and Special thanks to our sponsors Neil and Zena from Zena’s Catering for the enormous amount of time they have put in over the year and thanks to Flowers from the Shed for some wonderful donations.
