Early March 2023 marked the annual occasion of Lodge of St George 3158 Ladies Night, where Worshipful Master Steve Thraxton and his partner Sam welcomed 52 guests to a fun-filled evening at Taunton Masonic Hall. With excellent dining, fantastic music and superb ladies gifts, the guests were also able to take the opportunity of having a guided tour of the wonderfully refurbished venue. The evening was superbly pulled together and facilitated by Pete Russell with a little help from Steve and Sam.

There was a serious side to the evening also, when Steve presented a cheque for £2410 to his and Sam’s chosen charity for his year which is ESCAPELINE, which helps fight against child exploitation and county lines drug-running via vulnerable children in Somerset. The guests in attendance very generously supported the evening’s raffle to the tune of an amazing £410 which was added to the above donation. Representatives from ESCAPELINE in attendance very graciously accepted the donation and spoke briefly about the charity, what the donation will mean and how it will be used. Steve expressed his thanks: “Thank you to all of our guests and St George brethren for making this such a great and charitable evening – Sam and I are sincerely grateful to you all.”
