St Cecilia Lodge donate to local food bank

On Wednesday 25th January members of St Cecilia Lodge #9341, who meet at Wedmore, were very happy to donate a cheque for £500 to the the Wells Vineyard Foodbank, who provide supplies to local people in and around Wells. The money was raised from raffles and donations made by members and visitors from the October and November meetings.

In the picture above are Steve Jones (Treasurer) and Peter Ashby (Charity Steward) presenting the cheque to Sue Garland, the administrator of the facility. Sue thanked the members of St Cecilia for their generous support, and had specifically asked for the donation to be made in January, as this was a particularly difficult time for their clients. The day the cheque was presented they had given out over 25 food boxes to families with over 6 mouths to feed, they expect similar numbers in the future.
