Quantock’s Donation To H Potter Is Wizard

Keith Lloyd, the recent Past Master of Quantock Lodge 4446, Watchet presented a cheque for £200.00 to Harvey Potter, a 16 year old Explorer Scout who is a member of the Watchet Sea Scout Troop.  Harvey was a successful applicant to attend the World Scout Jamboree which takes place in August 2023 in South Korea.  As well as the contribution made by Quantock Lodge, Harvey has also organised quiz nights, car washes and many other activities to fund his travel to the Jamboree, alongside his sixth form studies.

Keith took the opportunity to give a recollection of his own Scouting experience; as a Queen’s Scout he attended the World Jamboree in Greece in 1963.  He told the troop that being a Scout between the ages of eight to his early twenties helped him tremendously to achieve entry into the RAF, where he enjoyed a successful career. Coincidentally, the last Sea Scout from Watchet to attend the World Jamboree was also supported by contributions from local Freemasons.
