Murder Mystery In Wiveliscombe

On Saturday, the 16th of May, Loyal Vacation 6209 in Wiveliscombe staged a murder mystery evening at the lodge. The event included a four course meal served in between scenes acted out by the lodge players with comedy, song and dance routines, plus clues for the audience to guess the murderer and various film references. The Lodge are pleased to report that the event sold out two weeks beforehand.

The cast of thirteen comprised seven loyal vacation members and six non masons. The murder mystery was written by Brother Mark Griffin and the cast had rehearsed for many months prior to the event. An excellent German themed four course meal was prepared by Brother Mark’s wife Jan with able assistance from Natalie, Maddie and Niamh in the kitchen. Music and lighting was professionally controlled by sound engineer Brother Andy Reed and the audience were encouraged to sing along with the many songs performed.

The murder investigation was led by DCI DC Geoff Jones who excelled in his first acting performance. The event was a great success and the cast received a standing ovation at the end of the evening.

Thanks, especially to Mark and Jan for the amount of work they put into the event. Significant funds were raised towards the Lodge building works. The Lodge members are already planning ideas for the next murder mystery event…..
