Tynte Lodge Initiation Report

The Worshipful Master of Bridgwater’s Tynte Lodge, Sean Jones, initiated Mr Florin Malanciuc into Freemasonry on the 21st May 2026. Brother Florin presented himself exceptionally well, along with a first-class ceremony by the Tynte Lodge Officers, especially Peter Wilcox (Junior Deacon) and Paul Bateman (Senior Deacon) who delivered a masterful Charge to the Initiate.

A particular highlight of the evening was Barrie Crow being presented with a certificate to mark the 50th anniversary of his being initiated into Antient Freemasonry. This accolade was presented by Richard Winter, Past Assistant Provincial Grand Master, on behalf of the Provincial Grand Master. Richard outlined Barrie’s remarkable service to Freemasonry and encouraged him to enlighten those present on some of the more interesting milestones in his career.

Yet another highpoint to our evening was the presentation by Richard of a Solomon Diploma to Alan Chambers – the Director of Ceremonies; Richard described the diploma and urged members to take up the challenge themselves.

At the Festive Board, the spirit of camaraderie continued to flourish; the room was lively and well attended with many visitors. The conversations, laughter, and genuine fellowship filled the air along with Tynte’s traditional and unique greeting to the visitors in song, and similar musical honours being afforded to all poor and distressed masons – ably led by Chris Marchmont.
