Athelstan cross the water to Wales

On Monday, 27th of April, several Brethren from Athelstan Lodge 9033 traveled across the water to visit Maesteg Lodge 6805 in the Province of South Wales.

The occasion of the Installation of Brother Alun Rhys Jones into the chair of King Solomon.

Brother Rhys along with his Son Owain, visited Athelstan earlier this year for the raising of his nephew, Brother Tristan Jones, and a fraternal visit was soon arranged.

Owain Jones, took on several significant roles in his Dad’s installation, making the night a nice family affair.

A brilliant 4 course festive board followed with the usual Masonic jollities and not a single Masonic fire!, which took a few of us by surprise.

A long drive home with a few road closures rounded off a very long but thoroughly enjoyable day.
