A new Master for The Royal Cumberland Lodge
Vincent Baughan was recently installed as Worshipful Master of The Royal Cumberland Lodge No. 41 in Bath. The Lodge was honoured with the presence of the Provincial Junior Grand Warden, representing the Provincial Grand Master for the Province of Somerset.
The Installation was expertly performed with good humour and pragmatism by the outgoing Master, Craig Harding, in the unique Royal Cumberland Workings, as he handed over The Chair to Vincent.
Included in the investiture of the officers for the coming year, were three Fellowcrafts as stewards. These relatively new members of the Lodge, stepping onto the first rung of their progress to The Chair. This, along with the Initiation of a new candidate in November, is a healthy sign that Royal Cumberland is a growing lodge.
Following the Ceremony there was a sherry reception, before the Brethren retired to the dining room for much needed sustenance. The evening was considered a great success, with everyone enjoying the special occasion.
