MTSFC – The Masonic Fishing Charity

The Masonic Fishing Charity’s aim is to bring an interactive fishing and countryside experience to people with special needs”.

It achieves this by running fishing events, both coarse and fly, at various fisheries and inviting participants from special needs schools and centres and people who have suffered trauma to come and join in.

This is far more than just a days fishing though! It enables mentally disabled people to gain in confidence, meet new challenges and achieve tangible results to take away; it helps disadvantaged people and those from harsh backgrounds to renew their confidence in meeting people and interacting with adults from outside their spheres; it helps physically disabled people (including war heroes and stroke victims) to participate and experience something that may otherwise be unavailable to them and it enables our volunteers to give back to the community and have some fun along the way.

Somerset Masonic Cycle Association

W Bro Steve Collings of the Lodge of Agriculture in Yatton is the leading light in forming a new (July 2020) Masonic Cycling Club in the Province of Somerset.

This club is open to cyclists of any age or ability, and in its earliest days has attracted lots of interest with 20+ brethren signing up with Steve via email, and who are already enjoying lively chat in a new WhatsApp group.

The club will organise regular rides throughout the Province starting with a tour of all the Masonic Centres in Somerset to help promote the new club.

Having a separate Cycling Club will provide the opportunity for all family members and friends to become members of the cycling club and enable them to take part in the cycling events and social functions.

WSMBA – Wyvern Chapter

The Widows Sons Masonic Bikers Association (MBA) is an organisation established for Freemasons who have a passion for motorcycling.

To qualify for membership of The Widows Sons you need to be a Master Mason of (or recognised by) the United Grand Lodge of England, in good standing in your own Lodge and run a road-worthy motorbike capable of maintaining the national speed limit. Basically, we are a masonic association.

Wyvern Chapter is an autonomous group with its own set of by-laws but is part of a wider community. The Widows Sons has over 1,000 members in England, Scotland, Wales and Ireland.  It has been growing at a phenomenal rate since its establishment in 2004 as Freemasons realise the benefits of mixing their interest with the Craft and motorcycling. Our only motorcycling affiliation is to the BMF (British Motorcyclists Federation).
