SMSC Clay shoot goes with a Bang!

Members of the Somerset Masonic Shooting Club, under the watchful eye of Chairman Rob Collins, were ‘bang on target’ (sorry!) at last Sunday’s monthly breakfast shoot at Mendip Shooting Ground.
The morning kicked off as usual with a very convivial breakfast of bacon butties, full English, or whatever took the fancy of those present, all washed down with lashings of tea and coffee. Once sated, we all set off, loaded with lead, to face the challenge of Mendip’s wide variety of clay targets.

A fine Sunday morning then witnessed the whole gamut of emotions experienced by novices and more experienced shooters alike – the satisfaction of seeing a tricky fast clay disappear in a puff of powder under the impact of 28g of lead pellets, right through to the frustration of seeing the easiest of targets disappear over your head at close range totally unscathed!

Regardless of the final scores, the over riding message of the morning is that “Breaking Clay Makes Your Day” and that “a bad day on the range is still better than a good day at the office!”
