Athelstan make their annual visit to Bristol

On Friday, June 5th, Athelstan Lodge made its annual fraternal visit to Temple Lodge in the Province of Bristol. Sixteen brethren from Athelstan and other Weston-super-Mare lodges travelled up the M5 to witness a Bristol Workings third degree.

This fraternal exchange has occurred twice yearly since 1992, representing a fantastic achievement in Masonic fellowship. The visiting party was further bolstered by several brethren from London who also travelled to experience the unique Bristol Workings.

During the meeting, Temple Lodge conducted a third degree ceremony to raise Reece Baber to the Degree of a Master Mason, with Past Masters occupying most of the offices.

Ian Clark delivered a flawless ceremony, and many of the newer visiting brethren were particularly impressed by the theatrical nature of the ritual. A fantastic festive board followed, filled with the usual Masonic jollity.

Athelstan Lodge looks forward to welcoming members of Temple Lodge to our installation on 4th of September, and of course, continuing this long-standing fraternal tie during Temple Lodges return visit in January.
