A very special night at RPL 291
At their recent meeting Rural Philanthropic Lodge carried out a very special Initiation, Mr Matthew Parkhouse, the future son in Law of Ian Evans a member of that Lodge.

The meeting was an extra meeting have been granted dispensation from the PGM RWBro Ray Guthrie, who was also there, with six other Grand Officers, including RWBro David Jenkins PPGM and Graham Puddy APGM as well as several others from the current provincial team. With over 50 attending including 18 visitors the room was buzzing.

Ian Evans took the chair on the evening to Initiate Matt, to mark the special occasion. Matt was a superb candidate and the team were on top form, stand outs being the JD Warren Beavis, Leigh Yule a recent joiner from Scotland, the NE Corner (no translation required) and Lyndon Baker who delivered the Charge word perfectly. Although when the Chair was returned to the incumbent WM Ian Chedzey he did remind Ian Evans when the Lodge of Instruction was – to great laughter!
The evening was rounded off with the usual revelry and good humour that Burnham is known for, Martin Slocombe’s response from the visitors will go down as one of the best ever! The food was excellent as ever provided by the hard working John Chinn.

A truly wonderful and special evening.
