New Provincial Team do a Double at Lodge Marine

Lodge Marine met in Nailsea on Saturday 25 April 2026 for a well-attended and enjoyable meeting, featuring a double Third-Degree ceremony delivered by the Provincial Grand Lodge of Somerset team.
The Lodge was opened by the Worshipful Master, who conducted the initial business of the meeting. The Deputy Provincial Grand Master, Mike Greedy, was then elected as an Honorary Member of Lodge Marine, a decision warmly supported by the Brethren.
The Provincial team was formally received and led the proceedings, in which Brothers Charlie Nethercott and Nigel Davies were raised to the Sublime Degree of a Master Mason. The ceremony was delivered with care and professionalism (and some humour), with several members of the Provincial team taking part.
The newly raised Brethren were presented with their Master Mason materials and encouraged to continue their learning through the Solomon platform.
Solomon Academy diplomas were also presented to several members in recognition of their commitment to Masonic learning.

A charitable donation of £250 was approved, proposed by Brother Stephen Holden, towards the provision of bleed control kits for a school in Wellington following a recent incident, reflecting the Lodge’s continued commitment to supporting its local community.
The meeting concluded with a well-attended festive board, with 58 members and guests dining together in a warm and convivial atmosphere, bringing a fitting close to the Lodge’s final meeting before the summer recess.
