“I get buy with a little help from my friends

At the last regular meeting of the Showmens guild lodge held on Thursday 20th November. We were honoured to receive a goodly number of brethren from the provincial team lead by Wbro Andy Wade PprSGW 3rd Provincial Grand Principle of Somerset. Giving us the latest update on the membership change and how we are doing as lodge.

In what was a busy night, we also received the Somerset traveling trowel from the WM and brethren of the Tyntesfield lodge 4494

The night was capped off by the raising of bro Joe Richards, which was only made possible by the support of the WM and brethren of the Wessex Lodge 4093. Due to the nature of changing trade of the traveling Showmen in recent years with the expansion of Christmas Markets, attendance has been tricky for the members. But the WM of Wessex who incidentally acted as senior deacon for bro Joes raising, assisted by his officers stepped in and assisted our own WM, Jonathan Henderson (the current IPM of Wessex Lodge) and the members of the Showmens Guild lodge in ensuring bro Joe was still able to be raised to the sublime degree of a Master Mason. 

We are so grateful for there support in helping make the whole night a special event of Bro Joe.

As with the travelling trowel, new friendships were very much formed and existing ones very much strengthened.
