Taunton Deane Chapter Installation Report

23rd May 2025 was the night of Taunton Deane Chapter’s Installation Convocation. The tension on the faces of the Principals and IPZ was palpable as they waited for the start of the Convocation. The arrival of Excellent Companion Geoff Lester representing the Grand Superintendent escorted by Excellent Companion Mark Golding allowed the Principals to relax.

The Principals were installed according to strict Aldersgate working, the Officers invested and the Address to the Principals given. The MEZ welcomed Geoff and then invited him to present 2 Grand Chapter Certificates to Nick Judd and Michael Seage. The Chapter was closed and photographs taken, before the Companions retired to the dining room for an excellent curry served by Karen Dingle and her team.

The usual toasts were taken and Roger Seaton who proposed the toast to the Principals likened them to the three Musketeers; in his reply Tony Beaumont emphasised the need for all the Companions to support the Officers of the Chapter so that it was happy and fun to attend!

The Companions, including the visitors, departed in high spirits looking forward to the next Convocation on Friday 5th September 2025.
