King Alfred Chapter Installation
“Congratulations on an excellent ceremony”
There are a number of things that need to happen for a ceremony to run smoothly,
some experienced Royal Arch Masons, enthusiastic members of the Chapter, willing
candidates, a helping hand or two, and a bit of practice. It all seemed to come
together at the recent exaltation ceremony of King Alfred Chapter, where
Companions Joby Smith and Chris Whitehead were exalted in a most enjoyable
double ceremony.
Experienced Mason, but relatively new to the Royal Arch, Comp. Garry Hawkes
started the ball rolling by entrusting the candidates assisted by Comp. Danny-
Bomford Glaysher. With E. Comp. Malcolm Beard acting as Scribe N, the exaltees
were then led through the ceremony by E. Comp. Sandy Glen, assisted by Comp
Hawkes and the helping hand of PrDepGDC, Angus Ross as acting ADC. With
Abbey Chapter having delivered a double exaltation a month earlier, the shared
experience helped to shape the double ceremony at King Alfred Chapter.
The candidates were both delighted to have completed their next step in
Freemasonry and the icing on the cake was the warm congratulations from both
visitors and our own Grand Officer Arthur Rowe.
