Charity Lunch At The Clevedon Hub For Somerset Young Carers

On Sunday 24th November the Clevedon hub at Clevedon masonic hall organised a charity lunch in aid of Somerset Young carers North Somerset.
Sian Beckingham, explained that she was part of a team of four looking after about 500 young careers from the age of five to eighteen. Sians group are children from the age of 12 to 18.the children might have a parent that needs helping or a sibling.
They organise events for the children to attend for instance a visit to cinemas, theatre, ice skating and small get together groups where the young careers find it difficult to mix with large groups but feel okay talking in small groups and discussing how others cope with problems, the charity also supply food hampers for struggling families.
The raffle raised £260, part of the meal cost was added and Clevedon club made a donation, the total presented to the charity was £400.
Sian thanked everyone for their kindness and generosity stating the money will help a great deal as they do not receive and money from any government agency.
