Masonic Trout and Salmon Fishing Day at Jacklands
The Somerset Branch of MTSFC (Masonic Trout and Salmon Fishing Charity) held a special fishing day on Friday 16th August for the Members of Mesh (Military and Emergency Service Help). A party of eleven keen fishing persons arrived in good time to start at 10am, and the day commenced with the Chairman, Rob Collins, explaining the arrangement that had been made, and giving a Health and Safety briefing.
The group was split into teams, and each team was accompanied by a MTSFC certified helper, while one visitor was with Rob fishing for Trout. Every visitor went home with a Trout they had personally caught.
We were blessed with Sunshine for the entire day, and after a few hours fishing, midday was marked with a delicious lunch, which as you can see was especially welcomed by Rob and Richard.
The days fishing came to and with the prize giving, which were presented by Richard Winter in his usual smiling and cheerful manner.
We extend a big thank you to Mark Burton who organised all the fishing rods, bait and importantly seats for the visitor’s.
