Nyanza Masonic Lodge Supporting the Local Community
Charity Lunch on behalf of Herne View School, Ilminster. Nyanza Lodge held their annual Charity Lunch at Seavington Millennium Hall near Ilminster, it was very well attended with 85 Brethren, their families and friends enjoying an excellent two course lunch whilst being entertained by Teresa De Roberto who sang a variety of songs from Jazz to Opera, show tunes and popular classics.
In his introduction the Master of the Lodge, Ian Pamplin, introduced Mrs Abby Coe, the Deputy Head for Inclusion at Ilminster, Herne View School, she gave those present a brief description of the very successful Specialist Inclusive Sensory Classroom they have at Herne View for those pupils with special needs, she went on to explain that the school is split into two campuses and that they were looking to establish second Sensory Classroom at the second school site.
The Master of the Lodge then said that the proceeds from that afternoon’s event would be donated to the School to help pay for this second unit. After the Lodge Treasurer had finalised the account the sum of £1,750.00 had been raised, so along with the £500.00, Nyanza donated at the beginning of the year the School are well on their way to providing the very much needed specialist equipment for the new Classroom. Mrs. Coe thanked the Brethren of Nyanza and all those present for their generosity.
