Weston Carol Service raises over £350

The eleventh Christian Orders Carol Service was held, as usual, at All Saints Church, All Saints Road, Weston-super-Mare in December 2023. This is a very relaxed, traditional, family carol service, where children are especially welcome, with the opportunity to sing all your favourite carols and hear the Christmas story in Readings given by the Heads of the main Somerset Orders, followed by the chance to socialise over a mince pie and a glass of wine.

Although held jointly by the Ancient and Accepted Rite, Knights Templar and Red Cross of Constantine, masons, their families and friends, from all orders across Somerset and beyond are welcome to attend.

It provides a wonderful start to the Christmas season and thanks to the generosity of All Saints Church, who host the event at no cost, every penny raised goes to a local charity. This year it was for the Children’s Hospice South West, an organisation that cares for children and young people with life limiting conditions, as well as providing much needed support their families. The photograph shows the event organisers, Reverend Stuart Boyd and Keith Baker, presenting a cheque for £354-50 whilst visiting the local hospice situated at Charlton Farm, Wraxall. There are similar establishments in Fremington, Devon and Porthpean, Cornwall. It is a very worthy cause and any donations are very much appreciated.

This years Carol Service will also be held at All Saints Church Weston-super-Mare on Wednesday 11th December 2024, so please put the date in your diary and support this very worthwhile event.
