Chapter Of St George Exaltation? Make It So!

The Chapter Of St George, Taunton managed to pull off a superb Exaltation ceremony on the 29th October, despite fortune and fate conspiring to attempt to unravel the finest made plans of Rod Green, their Director Of Ceremonies! With a rather low number of member attendees due to work commitments, school half term and (probably ye olde) seasonal lurgy conspiring against the Chapter to the 11.99th hour, a couple of the visiting Excellent Companions suddenly found themselves with a walk-on/speaking part in the evening performance; many thanks are due to Harry Price (C5221) and Pat Hitchcock (C261) for providing some much needed horsepower to the Exaltation proceedings.
With several Grand Chapter Officers watching on closely, Worshipful Brother Ian Rudge was Exalted to the Supreme Degree of a Royal Arch Mason – thus completing his Craft Masonry journey, much to the delight of his father, Excellent Companion John Rudge, a stalwart of the Chapter. Ken Clarke stepped in as 1st Assistant Sojourner, with Ian Barrie acting as the 2nd Assistant – so some steady hands on the tiller.
A fantastic and memorable St George Exaltation evening was rounded off with a cracking Festive Board, courtesy of 5* Karen and her Taunton Catering team. The Chapter of St George will return on Thurs 10th December with a (planned) double Exaltation ceremony, fortune and fate pending!
