Derek Installs Graham as the new Master of SPGSL
Derek Griffin did indeed have a busy weekend as on Friday he was in the Chair of his Mark Lodge, Saturday saw him hand over the reigns to Graham Hayman at Somerset Provincial Grand Stewards Lodge in WSM.
The meeting started in a sombre tone as Garry Hawkes delivered a heartfelt eulogy to his long term friend Roger Jenkins who sadly passed to the GLA recently and also Rogers Wife who sadly died a few days later. A candle burned through the meeting to mark the passing of Roger and his good lady Wife, and all the charitable work Roger did.
Andy Baird PrJGW was there to represent the PrGM Ray Guthrie, with Paul Wilson as his DC. Andy delivered the address to the master in fine form, and was not a burden to anyone (you had to be there)

Derek Installed Graham in the usual SPGSL style, with a mixture of emulation, Bristol and other workings, from the many members attending.
SPGSL is a special Lodge, as you have to have been an active Steward in any of the degrees not just Craft, Royal Arch and the Mark degrees also allow you to join. However, anyone can attend the meetings in their own right or as a guest. Wives and partners are also welcome to the meal afterwards.
SPGSL is also available to help out Lodges at their regular meetings in Weston or by conducting 2nds and 3rds, they also have a team of Stewards who will travel to any Lodge in the Province, to help them out if they have officers missing or would simply like someone to present the Charge, Tracing Board etc.
If you would like more information on this please contact Simon Sparkes the Secretary of SPGSL – secretaryspgsl9189@gmail.com
