Adair makes history at Grand Lodge
The Adair Club made history on Saturday 30 May by becoming the first Light Blue Club to hold its Annual General Meeting at Freemasons’ Hall, London.
Around 100 Somerset Freemasons attended the event, making it one of the largest gatherings of Somerset Light Blues ever assembled. The occasion was honoured by the presence of RW Bro Ray Guthrie, Provincial Grand Master, together with W Bro Barrie S Palmer, W Bro Russell Brown and W Bro Ian Fielder, Assistant Provincial Grand Masters, demonstrating the Province’s continued support for younger and newer Freemasons.
The AGM saw Bro Tom Beasley re-appointed as Chairman for a second term and the existing committee continue in office, providing continuity as the Club continues to grow. The event also included the launch of the new Adair tie, presentations for the Working Tools Challenge and Visiting Challenge, and the announcement of future Club initiatives.
The Club was also delighted to welcome RW Bro Brother Thompson, Assistant Grand Master, whose support for the event was greatly appreciated.
Looking around the room and later through the photographs, what stood out most was the number of smiling faces. It was a fantastic day, a proud moment for Somerset, and another significant milestone in the continuing success of the Adair Club.
