A Momentous day at Uno Corde

A Momentous day at Lodge Uno Corde: Legacy, Growth, and Brotherly Love

On 27th September, Lodge Uno Corde held a truly momentous and successful meeting, filled with emotion, tradition, and celebration. The day marked the installation of the new Master Tim Adams, with three generations of the Adams family playing meaningful roles in the ceremony. A touching tribute was paid to the fourth generation, a Mason himself, as Michael Adams shared how proud his father would have been to witness the continuation of their family’s Masonic journey.

Lodge Uno Corde is known for its inclusive festive board, where ladies dine alongside the brethren. During the festive board, the newly appointed Director of Ceremonies, Garry Sharp, gave a short and engaging explanation of the Masonic fire, helping guests feel more connected to the traditions of the Craft.

While the meeting was underway, the ladies and partners enjoyed an inspiring talk from Deanna Wells, representing Lisa’s Army—a charity founded by Lisa Wells to support terminally ill cancer patients and their families. Deanna’s presentation highlighted the charity’s mission to help families create lasting memories and provide comfort during life’s most challenging times.

The excitement continued with the successful confirmation of five joining members, marking a significant step in Uno Corde’s growth and vibrancy. The meeting was honoured by the presence of Bob Moore PAGDC, Provincial Grand Chaplain, and his Director of Ceremonies, Nathan Henderson, Provincial Deputy Grand Director of Ceremonies, both of whom contributed to the meetings success during the meeting and at the festive board.

A special moment came when Bob Moore presented Brother Vincent Bassy with his Grand Lodge Certificate, a proud milestone in his Masonic journey.

One of the evening’s most touching surprises came from  Mark Golding, who had discovered a Past Master Jewel engraved with the name Worshipful Brother Leonard Christian Christensen, dated 1954–1955, and originally presented by Lodge Uno Corde. The jewel was found in a regalia shop in Northampton, having somehow travelled across the country. Mark felt it only right to return the jewel to its rightful home and presented it to the newly installed Master. This act of kindness and reverence was a true demonstration of brotherly love, and a reminder of the enduring connections within Freemasonry.

If you would like to be part of this exciting growth and development—or know someone who might be interested in joining and bringing their partner along to enjoy the ladies’ talks—please contact our Lodge Secretary. Lodge Uno Corde offers a warm and welcoming environment for both Masons and their families.

Looking ahead, be sure to book in with the Lodge Secretary to attend our next regular meeting in November, where Lodge Uno Corde will deliver a First Degree Ceremony Demonstration. We look forward to welcoming you—and your partners—for another evening of tradition, learning, and fellowship.
