Somerset Commanders Royal Ark Mariner Lodge docks at Wincanton.

Members of the Somerset Commanders Lodge of Royal Ark Mariners No 1652 navigated to Wincanton on Monday 22nd September to deliver the Somerset Travelling Ark to the Herbert Fuller Lodge of Royal Ark Mariners No 128. The Junior Warden of Commanders Lodge, Mark Golding (left), accompanied by eight other members of the Lodge, presented the Ark to the Commander of Herbert Fuller Lodge, Doug Stembridge.

It was a busy night an the Ark, Bro Alan Chinn was elevated into the Lodge, seen here being congratulated by the Commander, Doug Stembridge and flanked by, left to right, Butch Arnold – SD, Kevin Aldred – SW, Commander elect, Tony Wilcox – DC and Tom Nutt – JW.

On behalf of the Provincial Grand Master and the Mark Benevolent Fund (MBF), Ray Guthrie, Past Deputy PGM presented the Lodge with a Festival Patrons Collar for the generous contribution made by the Lodge to the 2028 Somerset Festival for the MBF. Personal awards of Grand Patron were also made to Tony Wilcox and Steve Defries with a Patrons award to David Hillburn.
