Provincial News

From the Deputies desk – a fond farewell!

First as an APGM, and now as the DPGM it has been my honour and privilege to provide leadership and management to our great province as a Ruler for the past 10 years whilst supporting three PGM as they have set the strategy for our course during the decade.

I have enjoyed every minute and thank each and every member of the province for the way you have received me, for your support and hospitality.

I am pleased to be able to continue as lead for our involvement in the County Duke of Edinburgh Award scheme – a walk between Masonic centres is planned for later in the year. The success of our charitable endeavours is admirably reported in our eNews ‘NE Corner’. Behind the scenes our Almoner team have been ensuring we think carefully about prostate cancer, whilst our hall management experts have continued to improve and support our meeting places. The disciplinary, administrative and communication teams have faced considerable challenges, which they have addressed quietly and with great diplomacy.

Who would have thought when I started my journey with you that we would have an eNews letter second to none and that I would be presenting a ‘supported by Somerset Freemasons’ window sticker to the Past DGM here in Watchet in the months before my retirement!

Whilst membership is understandably a focus. I thank all of those involved in my areas of responsibility, whether at provincial or lodge level, those who have supported me in delivering, I believe, a happy and forward looking province.

I have given a commitment to continue to represent the PGM at installation meetings, and especially presenting veterans awards.

Brethren I may be retiring, but please do be in touch.  I wish the incoming deputy all the very best for his term of office.

Sincererely and Fraternally
