A most enjoyable evening of bonhomie at St Alphege Lodge recently when Worshipful Master Chris conducted his first ceremony since being Installed in April.

Amongst the many visitors were a returning contingent from France, adding to the international flavour of the occasion.

Much to his delight, three members of Hotspur Lodge, his Mother Lodge, also made the journey from Newcastle Upon Tyne to support him, and they can certainly report back that they found Chris to be in fine form.

To round off the proceedings, Mike Greedy the Deputy Provincial Grand Master, presented Brother Clarence with his Grand Lodge Certificate and in significant contrast, David Medlock the Past Assistance Grand Master, presented Brother John with a certificate to commemorate his 60 years in Freemasonry, to much acclaim by all.

The buzz in the dining room later that evening will stay in the memory for a long time and would have been the subject of happy recollections during the journey home: to France, Newcastle, Hampshire, Peterborough, and London.
