Tyntesfield Pass Mallick with a little help from SPGSL
At their recent meeting, Tyntesfield Lodge had the pleasure of Passing Mallick Jamma to the degree of a Fellowcraft, with help from three members of the Somerset Provincial Grand Stewards Lodge, Garry Hawkes, Simon Sparkes and Ian Evans.

Tyntesfield Lodge, like several other Lodges in the Province, have an ageing membership and not all of the members can attend regularly, so on this night they needed a Senior Deacon, Junior Deacon, someone to deliver the Tracing Board and an ADC. So David Maddern the Lodge DC made a call to SPGSL, asking for help – as this is what the Provincial Grand Stewards Lodge was created to do.
Simon the Secretary of Stewards Lodge sent out the request to the members of SPGSL, which was answered by Garry Hawkes, who with his years of experience stood in as ADC and delivered a word perfect Tracing Board, Simon Sparkes as JD and Ian Evans as SD, both of whom had not taken this role for over 15 years – and are used to the multi ritualistic Stewards Lodge Workings (a touch of Bristol, a pinch of Taylors, a touch of emulation and a smidgen of Burnham) all done with a smile and good humour.
The WM Kevin Hall (in his third year as Master) led the team very well with help of all his officers, including the indefatigable David Maddern!

Mallick was an excellent candidate, following the lead of the SD very well, saying he had a great night and really enjoyed it. The good news is, they have two more candidates after the ballot was taken in their favour and a Provincial Team visit later in the year.
You can join Somerset Provincial Grand Stewards Lodge if you have been an active provincial Steward in any order not just the Craft. They are always available to provide brethren to take offices in a meeting (as in this case) or conduct a ceremony on behalf of a Lodge or share a ceremony (be it at their meetings in Weston s Mare or coming to your Lodge to carry out the meeting there). For more information on requesting help please contact the SPGSL secretary Simon Sparkes (secretaryspgsl9189@gmail.com).
