Adair Academy Launch – 26 May

The Adair Academy, a new learning initiative, was successfully piloted in March, with two sessions receiving very positive feedback. Following this strong start, the Academy is now set to roll out more widely.
The Academy is designed to support newer brethren as they begin their Masonic journey, with a particular focus on building confidence and competence in ritual. Initial sessions have covered First Degree Working Tools and the answers for the Second Degree Questions, alongside practical techniques to help members learn and deliver ritual effectively. These methods and skills can be applied across all areas of ritual and officer work.
Feedback from those who attended has been highly encouraging, particularly around the clarity of the techniques shared and the confidence it gave members in approaching new pieces of work:
“Really useful session – made the working tools much clearer and easier to learn. I’ll definitely use these.”
“Gave me a lot more confidence to have a go in lodge.”
As the Academy develops, it will continue to be shaped by member feedback. Future sessions are planned to include guidance on progressing through offices such as Inner Guard and Junior Deacon, as well as interactive Q&A sessions and additional learning topics. In time, this will extend to larger pieces of ritual, including the tracing boards, with opportunities to apply this learning in practice. This includes preparation for the Adair Lodge Takeover on 5th September, which will offer any Adair member wishing to deliver ritual the opportunity to do so, supported by three live rehearsal sessions in advance.
The Academy complements existing learning resources by encouraging engagement with Solomon, lodge mentors, and provincial initiatives. Its aim is to give newer brethren the confidence to take to the floor and deliver their first pieces of ritual, while also strengthening those already progressing. This learning can also be reinforced through wider initiatives such as the PGM’s Working Tools Challenge. Recordings of sessions will be made available via private link following each event.
