Keynsham Masonic Hall Open Day
Keynsham Masonic Hall Ltd held an open day on Saturday 28th March where they were supporting their chosen charity for this season, Operation Community Hamper.
The day was well attended and provided the public with a chance to view and buy ‘much loved goods’ that various lodge members deemed surplus to requirements in their homes!
The day started at 10am and the team were there with Hot dogs and tea in hand, supplied by their caterers, Ariel and Steve, to set up the gazebo and tables ready for the mad rush.
The Deputy Lord Lieutenant of Somerset, Mr Neil Dowdney TD DL arrived at 11am and during his two hour visit made a tour of the building chatting to the team from the various lodges and also from Operation Community Hamper, members from the Freewheelers (Blood Bikes) and St John Ambulance who also provided displays throughout the day.
Tours of the Lodge Room were organised and a fabulous display of regalia and masonic items, belonging to Lee Brimble, were on display:

This provided a great deal of interest and many members of the public took advantage of the tours, including the Deputy Lord Lieutenant, himself a Freemason, and Past Masters from three Lodges.
The day was also successful in that they raised over £500 for the Charity with donations from the Lodges present, and proceeds of two raffles, one held at Christmas and the other on the day.
