Cheque Presentation and Passing Ceremony at the Hanging Chapel

Portcullis Lodge at the March meeting were delighted to welcome a representative from Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance and before the Lodge was opened, the Past Master Mike Norton presented a cheque for £750 to the Charity. This represented a portion of over £2500 raised by Mike during his year in the chair. Karen thanked the Lodge for their support and told the them about the new helicopter the funds would go to. Other donations have been made so far of £250 to Akamba Aid Fund, and £250 to go towards a disabled toilet at the Local Sports Club.  Other donations will follow later in the year.

The Lodge was then opened by the Master Andy Altendorff and after conducting the business of the Lodge he asked Mike Norton to take the Chair to perform the ceremony (Andy was recovering from a hospital procedure). Liam Harper was passed to the 2nd degree in fine form. During the ceremony Mike Norton stepped in again (due to last minute absence) to present the working tools and thus complete the set. He was then pleased to receive his new Working Tools pin badge by the area Rep Michael Beasley.
